Dr. Todd Brandt is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon serving patients in Fishersville, Lexington, and communities throughout the Shenandoah Valley. His extensive training encompasses dentistry, medicine, general surgery, anesthesia, microsurgical nerve repair, cosmetic surgery, and the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery.
Education and Oral Surgery Training
Dr. Brandt earned his undergraduate degree from William & Mary before completing his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry and Dental Clinics.
He subsequently completed an integrated oral and maxillofacial surgery residency and earned his medical degree at the University of Kentucky. He served as chief resident during his final year of oral and maxillofacial surgery training.
Dr. Brandt also completed an additional year of general surgery training and received advanced instruction in microsurgical nerve repair through the Division of Plastic Surgery at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center.
Board Certification and Surgical Qualifications
Dr. Brandt is certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
He served as a national board examiner for ABOMS from 2017 through 2024. In 2018, he was selected to serve as the board’s subject-matter expert in dentoalveolar surgery.
Dr. Brandt is licensed to perform cosmetic surgery in addition to practicing the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery.

Dr. Brandt’s advanced surgical training allows him to provide treatment for a broad range of oral and facial conditions. His areas of care include:

Military Service and Professional Leadership
Dr. Brandt served for eight years in the United States Navy Reserve. He was honorably discharged in 2010 at the rank of Lieutenant Commander.
He served as president of the Shenandoah Valley Dental Association from 2009–2010 and president of the Virginia Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons from 2024–2025.
Community Involvement
Dr. Brandt is dedicated to the Shenandoah Valley community. He has served on numerous charitable committees, including the Augusta Regional Dental Clinic Board, Virginia Fly Fishing Festival Committee, Grace Race 5K Run/Walk Event, and Waynesboro YMCA Tri for the Y Triathlon.
He has also served on the session of Tinkling Spring Presbyterian Church, volunteered as a parent leader with Scouting America, and coached youth athletics for more than 20 years.
Outside the Practice
Dr. Brandt lives in Waynesboro with his wife and two sons. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, surfing, snow skiing, and competing in triathlons.
