About Our Practice
Blue Ridge Oral Surgery has been a mainstay in Staunton and Waynesboro, Virginia since Dr. Robert M. Driscoll began practicing oral surgery with Dr. Scott Smith in 1979. Dr. Driscoll soon became the only oral surgeon to serve the residents of Augusta County and surrounding areas once Dr. Smith retired the same year Dr. Driscoll began practicing at the Coalter Street office in Staunton, Virginia.
Dr. Driscoll moved his office to Mactanly Place in Staunton, Virginia in 1986. His already busy practice continued to grow and soon he began looking for another oral surgeon to join his office. Dr. William C. Bigelow joined Dr. Driscoll in 1987 and residents of Augusta County would be served by the oral surgery practice known as Drs. Driscoll and Bigelow for the next 19 years in their offices in both Staunton and Waynesboro, Virginia.
In 2005, Drs. Driscoll and Bigelow realized that their practice had continued to grow and they would soon need a larger and more modern office to accommodate the busy offices in Staunton and Waynesboro. Nearly at the same time, many other doctors were moving their offices onto the Augusta Medical Center (AMC) Campus for patient convenience.
Drs. Driscoll and Bigelow decided to relocate to one central office in a modern, state-of-the-art facility on the AMC campus.
During construction of their new facility, Drs. Driscoll and Bigelow began searching for a new associate to join their expanding practice. In July of 2006, Dr. M. Todd Brandt began as an associate with Drs. Driscoll and Bigelow and the practice officially changed its name to
Blue Ridge Oral Surgery.
While it was difficult to leave the offices in Staunton and Waynesboro, Drs. Driscoll, Bigelow and Brandt realized that the new office in Fishersville, Virginia on the AMC campus would offer easier access to care for most patients and offer the residents of Augusta County and surrounding communities with one of the largest and modern Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Practices in the Shenandoah Valley.
